Ten years on from the tragic events of 9/11, Ireland will remember those who died and those who are left behind, with a special performance of The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace by Karl Jenkins, a moving and poignant work which carries a powerful message of conflict resolution and hope for the future. The commemorative concert will also include Leonard Bernstein’s hauntingly beautiful and affirmative Chichester Psalms for solo boy soprano, choir and orchestra, and spoken reflections by eye-witness journalist Conor O'Clery, poets Paula Meehan and Paul Muldoon, and young actor Robert Donnelly.

Multi-award winning musician Paddy Moloney of The Chieftains will perform Táimse Im' Chodladh which he performed at the Ground Zero site soon after 9/11.

Proceeds in aid of The Ark, A Cultural Centre for Children to fund “Harmony” – a three-year initiative to bring high-quality musical experiences to children in disadvantaged communities, helping to promote social inclusion, diversity and peace building.

Presented in association with the Edward M Kennedy Institute and part of ‘Global Sing for Peace’, the Lincoln Centre’s global link for the 9/11 10th anniversary concerts around the world. globalsingforpeace.com
