Family Gig: The Colourful Music of Los Musiqueros 18 Jul 2015

The perfect complement to our Colour! season, The Ark & Big Bang Festival of Rhythm collaborate again to present a fun family gig with a truly Argentinian flavour!.

Los Musiqueros are an award winning band coming to The Ark all the way from Argentina. Celebrating 30 years of making music for children, the trio sing music from here, there and everywhere! Expect colourful music from the Kalahari Desert to the Andes, from traditional European songs to those invented by children in their workshops. There will be lots of opportunity to join in and sing with the band.

Los Musiqueros also love to make their own fun, colourful instruments which they include in their songs and performances. On The Ark stage, you will be able to see all kinds of strange items that make sounds including tables, pots and tubes as well as familiar guitars, flutes and drums.

Children aged 7+ (and their grown-ups) can also take part in DIY Instruments, a special family workshop with the band earlier in the day where they will show you how to make your own fun instruments out of surprising everyday objects and materials - just like they do! Find out more...
