In this imaginative workshop, visual artist Paula Henihan will help you to create your own curious or fantastical character, using a range of mixed media, collage, and drawing techniques. Ages 4-6 & 7-9.
You will take inspiration from an artwork by noted Irish artist Alice Maher from our exhibition Once Upon a Picture, to invent this character. When your character is made, you can bring them to life by sharing the story of your character with the group. Then reflect and on how one artwork has had several interpretations and imagined stories – marvelling at the power of images to capture the imagination.
