Precious Books craft workshops 25 Apr 2014

Around the time of Brian Boru and the Vikings, Irish monks made the most beautiful books. These had elaborately decorated letters and patterns using symbols, plants and animals all colourfully illuminated with gold and silver. Because they were so precious and well looked after, we still have some of these books today, for example The Book of Kells.

In this workshop, led by artist Deirdre Rogers, you will create your own precious book to treasure for ever. Through block printing and calligraphy style drawing you can bring your own short story to life with colour, some fun and imagination.
