ExhibitionOpening Hours
The SAVE THE ROBOTS exhibition is open at The Ark and Filmbase, Temple Bar, from Tuesday to Sunday from 10.30AM to 5.30PM. Advance booking is recommended but you can also buy tickets directly on arrival at The Ark: A Cultural Centre for Children.


Exhibition Location and information
The SAVE THE ROBOTS exhibition begins in The Ark: A Cultural Centre for Children, 11A Eustace Street, Temple Bar, Dublin 2 (
map) with Robotic Life, exploring the evolution of robots from Ancient Egypt to the 21st century, and continues just across the road in Filmbase, Curved Street, Temple Bar (map), with Electric Dreams, exploring amazing robots in film, fantasy and art, including the original ‘Sonny’ from the film I, Robot, Robby the Robot from Forbidden Planet, and Terminator.

Robot building workshops
Visitors to the exhibition can participate in two robot-building workshops:

DrawBots: create robots out of simple materials that go out of control and draw pictures, and take home your very own robotic creation. Age: 8-14, Times: 11.45 and 2.45 every day, lasts 45 minutes.

Lego Mindstorms Mission to Mars: an exciting workshop on programming LEGO robots to explore the surface of Mars, Age: 8-14, Times: 12.45 and 3.45 every day, lasts 45 minutes

Although some workshop places will be available on a first-come-first-served basis on the day, advance booking is
highly recommended for the workshops due to limited places (call The Ark Box Office at 01-6707788). Robot-building workshops for adults can be arranged on request – please call The Ark at 01-6707788 for details.
