The Ark After-School Art Club: Online Gallery 12 Jun 2021
On Cruinniú na nÓg, a day of free creativity for children and young people, celebrate and enjoy children’s art in our online gallery of artworks created by children of all ages and their families during our online After-School Art Club.
Over six days of workshops through April, May and June 2021 led by illustrator Duffy Mooney-Sheppard, The Ark’s live online after-school community project will enable the creative potential and expression of participating children and their grown-ups. The After-School Art Club has been designed with multiple ages and entry points in mind, and each session is tailored to the group in attendance.
The project culminates with an online sharing of the children's artwork, which will be presented in an Online Gallery of their exhibition 'Dreaming and Drawing', free to view from 10am on Saturday 12 June as part of The Ark’s celebration of Cruinniú na nÓg 2021. About the Artist
Duffy Mooney-Sheppard is a visual artist, arts programme curator and workshop facilitator. A recent graduate of the MA Children’s Book Illustration at Cambridge School of Arts, she is drawn to the process of story-making as a way to explore ideas and share her curiosity about the natural world. With many years of experience working creatively with young people at The Ark and many other cultural institutions and schools, she has developed her facilitation methods which are based in playful observation, imagination and telling tall tales. This year, in response to the COVID-19 crisis, she founded Little Islands Art Club, an online art groups for children and adults.
