Schools: Collage Your Own Habitat 4 - 5 Mar 2025
Created for Junior Infants to 1st Class, join visual artist Laura Whelan for a workshop that will start with a tour of the Puffin Rock exhibition.
During this tour, you will learn fun facts about what a habitat is and all the animals that live in the Marine, Intertidal, Grassland and Wetland habitats. Laura will then help you to create your own characters and habitats using drawing and mixed media collage.
There will be the option to add scents to our creation, allowing you to smell the sea breeze or fresh grass in this multi-sensory workshop.
Curriculum Links:
This workshop will link with the visual arts curriculum. Pupils are encouraged to look at and respond to the Puffin Rock Habitats exhibition and its themes. It will encourage imaginative thinking and experimentation with a range of materials. Pupils will explore line, shape, colour, tone and textures.
