Seedlings Workshops: Tangle, Loop & Weave 3 - 4 Aug 2018

This fourth iteration of our monthly early years programme continues the playful exploration of materials ideal for little ones aged 2-4 (and their grown-ups!) to imagine and create together.

Explore drawing in 3-D space with fabric lines. Using strips of colourful fabric you will have fun looping and tying the fabric between hooks and rings on the walls, wrapping it around pillars, weaving it over, under and across our gallery space.

As you do you will make your own colourful lines, shapes and tangles that you can then climb under, step over and crawl through. You can also make your own fabric drawings by shaping it on the floor into circles, squares, mountains, trees, waves or whatever your imagination suggests.

By the end of the workshop you will have filled the whole room with criss-crossing colours and lines which will be a big beautiful colourful installation made by the whole group.

Our Seedlings workshops are devised and presented by Lucy Hill. Lucy is the inaugural recipient of The Ark’s John Coolahan Early Years Artist Residency and will be devising and delivering an exciting workshop programme for children in the early years at The Ark from May 2018 until April 2019.
