The Winter Art Studio for Families 6 Dec 2014 - 10 Jan 2015
Presented by The Ark and The LAB Gallery/Dublin City Council Arts Office
To start your creative adventure, our professional studio artist will introduce you to a number of winter themed contemporary Irish artworks and encourage you to share your thoughts on the work.
You will then move into the studio which is packed full of ‘things’ (artwork, books, objects, illustrations and photographs) for you to explore to help you to consider the theme of winter and the types of feelings, imagery and colours associated with it before you start to create!
There are work stations set up with an exciting selection of tools and materials for you to use. You can unleash your imagination and experiment with different paints and drawing materials, clay, fabrics and other mixed media. As you start to create your own artworks together, the artist will demonstrate some of their techniques and provide inspiration in an inventive and relaxed environment.
A special thank you to Mason, Hayes & Curran for the loan of artwork.
