Limited Edition Signed Print: 'Like The Sun Coming Out' by Fuchsia MacAree
To help us celebrate The Ark: '25 Years and Counting' and raise much needed funds for our Opportunities Fund, artist Fuchsia MacAree has created a special limited edition print of a new artwork, 'Like The Sun Coming Out', which is available to purchase now.
Depicting the post-zoo giddiness of the Phoenix Park Bandstand on a winter's day, Like The Sun Coming Out was commissioned for our upcoming Winter Light exhibition, and has been designed especially with children in mind. The piece is inspired by trips to the park and the rare and precious glimpses of sunlight we get during the colder time of year. The original work was designed digitally, then been hand-painted with certain sections in light-sensitive photochromic paint. When the sun hits the painting, the image slowly changes, turning from a cold and grey day into a sunny one!
Now, we have made just 25 prints of this sunny artwork, with each limited edition print individually and lovingly signed by the artist, Fuchsia McAree. Like The Sun Coming Out will make a perfect addition to any room where you'd like to add a hint of colour and joy, or a beautiful gift for a loved one!
When you purchase one of these special limited edition prints, all profits will be used to support our Opportunities Fund, helping us reach even more children from all backgrounds whose access to arts and culture has become even more limited by Covid-19 restrictions. About the artist:
Fuchsia MacAree is an artist and illustrator based in Dublin. She studied Visual Communication in NCAD, followed by a Masters in Illustration in Camberwell in London. She enjoys drawing quiet moments and Irish oddities. She draws on an iPad, using warm colours and simplified perspectives. Her work has ended up as large scale murals, screen prints, woodcuts, textiles, paintings and animations. She has exhibited and been published worldwide.
