Legacy Giving at The Ark

Create cultural engagements that last a lifetime by including a legacy gift to The Ark in your will.

The Ark is where children come to discover and love art. More than a cultural centre, The Ark makes and shares great art by, for and about children, knowing the impact access to art and culture has on children’s personal, academic and social development. The Ark is also a place where children can express themselves creatively and have their say, as is their right.

Having a will ensures that your estate goes to the people and causes you care most about. After you have taken care of your family and loved ones, you can leave a truly memorable and inspiring legacy that will make an impact on the lives of future generations. A legacy gift to The Ark means sharing the magic of art and creativity – and its significant benefits – with thousands of children right across Ireland and especially those who might otherwise miss out. If you, your children or your grandchildren have enjoyed the excitement of a live performance, the curiosity of an exhibition or the inspiration of a hands-on creative experience, including a gift in your will to The Ark will ensure many more children can access and enjoy those same experiences long into the future.

Any legacy gift to The Ark will be used to enable children of all backgrounds to access art and culture at The Ark. We recognise the honour of being included in your will and we promise to use your gift wisely and effectively.

The impact of a legacy at The Ark

In 2017 The Ark received a legacy from a teacher whose many students enjoyed visits to The Ark since we opened our doors in 1995. With this generous gift, we founded our Early Years Artist Residency. This residency gives an artist the opportunity to dedicate time and research to the development of artwork and arts experiences for children aged 2-4, knowing the incredible impact access to the arts can have at this crucial developmental stage. Since 2018, three artists have been given the opportunity to develop their practice in visual arts, drama and dance. In this time, over 5,000 young children have enjoyed artwork and activities made especially for them, while hundreds of parents, guardians and early years educators have been empowered to support the creativity of those aged 2-4.
