Drop into The Ark over the Easter break or any weekend in April and experience our world of books, illustrations and words. During Telling Tall & Tiny Tales, all three floors of The Ark will offer a fun and engaging book experience for children. Simply pick up a map at reception and choose whatever path you want to take.
Storytelling
In the theatre, watch a short DVD of our fantastic storytellers reading from children’s books. Let their words bring the books to life.
Book Building
Discover how picturebooks, illustrated books and novels are put together, and uncover interesting facts along the way. Check out the beautiful artwork from books on the walls, or take a close-up look at sketches, notebooks and drafts. Let your imagination run free and help us write a new tale every day by adding a sentence to our group story.
Tell Your Tale
Try different ways of creating your own stories in words or pictures on our magnetic boards; piece together a puzzle; draw, colour and write; or simply pick up one of our many books available in our book lounge.
Tickets to the Telling Tall & Tiny Tales Experience are €3 per child. Adults accompanied by children are free of charge. As this is a shared experience, children need to have a parent or guardian with them throughout their visit. Don't forget that if you book for one of our workshops or The Tale of the Titanic, the ticket for that includes entry to the Telling Tall & Tiny Tales Experience on the same day as the event booked.
The Telling Tall & Tiny Tales Experience is open from 10am to 5pm (last entry is at 4:30pm) on the dates above. Entry will be subject to visitor capacity. We would like to ensure everyone enjoys their visit so we may need to moderate entry during busy periods.
