Feedback from Schools

Take a look at some of the lovely feedback that we have received from our visiting schools.

“Fabulous Experience - Really got the children involved - ALL of them!” Teacher

“The Ark is remarkable” Boston Institute of Contemporary Art

“One day I wondered what the holdup was at the school door. Lots of children where stopping to look and discuss the art work. There was a traffic jam! So I knew then there was definite interest. The project has also created interaction between the classes. One day I heard an older kid ask a younger kid what they saw in the art work. We are really only beginning to realise the potential of this project.” Teacher, ARK1X1, the Year Long Schools Project in County Cavan

“Dear wonderful people at the Ark, I just wanted to take the time to send you some feedback from last night's workshop run by Colin. It was a really useful workshop that was very practical and fitted perfectly with the curriculum. I enjoyed the way it was taught and Colin made the steps and sequences easy to pick up and remember. I can't wait until I can teach my 4th, 5th and 6th Class the dances in my next PE topic, especially how to tell the difference between a jig and a reel - I'll get them to devise a way of recognising when it’s a hornpipe!” Teacher who participated in the CPD in Irish Traditional Dance

“Loved the puppets, the music, the lights. Great show and even learnt Irish” Teacher, De La Salle on Clann Lir

“Beautiful presentation. Helpful and attentive staff. Lots of creative methodologies and materials. Very worthwhile experience. Thank you!” Teacher, Esker E.T.N.S on From Earth to the Stars

"My favourite part was all the memories" Eve, 2nd class, Malahide NS on Annabelle’s Star

“Very enjoyable and appropriate for senior infants. Warm welcome and very organised.” Teacher, St.Pius B.N.S on Annabelle's Star

“Fabulous. The kids really enjoyed the exhibition /tour. Seeing all the bears got their minds thinking and ready to draw. The tour guides where funny and informative. The children were thoroughly engaged” Teacher, Rathfarnham ETNS on Teddy Bear Story

“A sense of whole school engagement… the work is in a special place in the school” Marian Dempsey, Vice Principal Shercock National School on ARK1x1

"This has been a very valuable educational experience for our children. We were delighted to have been fortunate enough to be included in the project. It was great to have these wonderful works on display in our school. The children learned how to respond to a visual work and developed the appropriate language and feeling required. It was interesting for me as a teacher to observe children who are academically challenged and disadvantaged and see how they re-acted and responded to the artworks. They seemed to see in a different way and connected things in their own lives. They were in no way inhibited in the expression of their response. This has been a very positive experience for all involved and we hope that further opportunities will be provided to continue with this in developing a lifelong interest for the children." Orla O Sullivan on on ARK1x1
