Animation Art Show Exhibition & Auction 2018 27 Oct - 4 Nov 2018
The Animation Art Show is a family friendly exhibition and auction of artwork donated by animation professionals and students. The proceeds of the event will go directly to Irish children's charities. Since the first auction in 2012, the event has raised over €55, 000!!
Highlights in the 2018 exhibition include a limited edition fine art print from the Oscar nominated film The Breadwinner signed by director Nora Twomey (which would also include the option of a personalized message from Nora herself for the winning bidder) alongside an original hand-painted cel from Don Bluth's Thumbelina, two original painted cels from All Dogs go to Heaven signed by Animation Ireland chairperson, John Phelan, and an original hand painted cel from The Pebble and the Penguin.
Another interesting piece in the show will be a unique bronze sculpture based on the short film The Last Elk. The sculpture is a collaboration between Seán Forsyth and Brown Bag Films' co-founder Cathal Gaffney and is one of only 9 sculptures produced. Alongside these will be an intriguing mix of original paintings, sculptures, plush toys, and digital prints. You can see the complete auction catalogue here
Everyone is invited to pop in to The Ark and view the amazing artwork in the FREE exhibition over the mid-term break. If you see something that you like and you want to put in a bid, then come along to the auction on Sunday November 4th from 2pm- 6pm!
