Artists' CPD workshop: Devising Performance for the Very Young 23 Oct 2023

Join visiting U.S. Fulbright specialist at Atlantic Technological University, artist Amanda Pintore, to explore her method of creating research-based Theatre and Dance for the Very Young (TDVY) by working with children ages 0-6 years and their carers/educators as creative partners in the process.

Participants will gain an understanding of this methodology, activate components of the devising process on their feet, and share their work with each other. This embodied workshop centres play as practice, examines the translation of creative research into performance, and is suited for anyone with an interest in the artistic experiences of very young children.

This will be an active workshop so please wear comfortable clothes and shoes.

We are also delighted have Dara Fitzgerald, Fulbright Commission Executive Director, here on the day to officially welcome Amanda. Dara will also outline the kind of opportunities available to artists through the Fulbright programme and where to get more information.

How to request a place:

We are delighted to offer this opportunity for free to interested artists. Capacity is limited, so to request a place please fill in our short expression of interest form here outlining why this opportunity is of interest to you and how it would benefit your practice to attend.

Closing date for receipt of completed forms: Friday 13th Oct at 5pm.

Offer of places will be communicated by end of day Monday 16th Oct.

If demand exceeds the number of places available, we will prioritise places for artists with a demonstrated interest in early years practice, whether an established part of your practice or if you are at an early or exploratory stage in developing as an early years artist.
