Join us for a special January coffee morning focusing on artists’ wellbeing, in association with First Fortnight festival.
At this dark time of year, if you are an artist interested in work with children, join us via Zoom for an informal chat and an opportunity to meet other like-minded artists as well as members of The Ark team and First Fortnight teams. We welcome all artists, whether you are new to work with children or just curious, as well as those of you with more experience working with this unique audience.
It continues to be more important than ever in these challenging times to give you a chance to connect and meet with others in a relaxed, friendly space. We won’t be able to supply you with a cuppa but hopefully you’ll be able to bring one with you to your screen!
With our theme of artists’ wellbeing, First Fortnight will share some of their experience in the area of mental health as it relates to those working in the arts, particularly in these especially hard times.
We are excited to welcome First Fortnight's Therapeutic Services Manager, Patricia Bourke D’Souza, as a guest speaker. Patricia is an accredited Counsellor, Psychotherapist (MIACP, MIAHIP) and Supervisor (MIACP) and accredited Somatic Trauma Therapist, Trainer and Supervisor. Since 2015, as part of her roles with Mental Health Ireland and First Fortnight, Patricia has worked in partnership with the National Concert Hall in coordinating/managing the implementation of the Music in Mind Programme in mental health settings, for refugee and asylum seeker populations (in partnership with the HSE National Office for Social Inclusion) and for children and young people at risk of or experiencing homelessness. We look forward to hearing from Patricia about her work with First Fortnight as well as her work on their upcoming Music in Mind programme for children.
As there is a limit to the number of places on a video call we do need you to register this time. We promise it is really quick and simple.
Please register here.
Once you have successfully registered, we will email you a link to a Zoom call on the morning of the event. Please be advised you may need to install the Zoom app in advance which can be downloaded here.
The Ark runs free coffee mornings for artists three times a year so please feel free to come along to another one if you can’t make it this time.
