Babies: Test our new installation space 16 May 2026
We welcome babies and their grown-ups to explore an interactive space in the process of being created for children under two, by artist Orla Kelly.
This baby space installation is supported by Cruinniú na nÓg. It will be an immersive, sensory-rich installation inspired by the natural world, taking the form of a soft textile, a beautiful landscape that babies and their grown-ups can explore together.
As this installation is still being finalised, participants may be asked for feedback about their child's engagement in the space. This installation aims to gently introduce children to art and creative experience from the very beginning of life.
There are two different time slots for babies at different stages.
Session @10.30 am: Babies 8 months to 24 months and their grown-ups
Orla will invite babies to lie and observe, or explore the different textures, scents and surfaces with the help of their grown-up.
Session @12 pm: Babies from birth to 8 months and their grown-ups
Orla will invite crawlers and toddlers to play and discover a variety of textures, scents and surfaces, moving under and over different elements - encouraging their natural curiosity to explore.
