Join this vibrant samba music ensemble as they bring the energy, rhythm and vibe of Rio carnival to Meeting House Square for these free family friendly performances.

Based in Dublin, Morro 16 are known for their infectious live percussive performances. Their signature style of samba is 'batucada', typically played at carnival in Rio de Janeiro and other cities around Brazil. With members from Ireland and all around the world, the whole family will love this vibrant collective of skilled percussionists.

Morro 16 first played together on the Hill 16 terrace of Croke Park during the Ireland vs. Brazil soccer friendly in 2008. Since then, they have played at some of Ireland's largest festivals including Electric Picnic, the Festival of World Cultures, St. Patrick's Festival, Hotter than July and the Drogheda Samba Festival.

Morro 16 are sure to bring a party atmosphere throughout the Sunday of our BIG BANG Dublin! 2022 festival. No booking is needed – just turn up with your dancing shoes on!
