Flap, Glide and Soar like a Bird: Online Visual Art Workshops 10 - 17 Jul 2020

Design and make your own Beautiful Beasts of the air and sky in this online puppet-making workshop with visual artist Duffy Mooney-Sheppard for ages 5-12.

Birds flap, glide and soar. Some birds spend almost their whole lives on the wing and rarely come to land. Swifts sleep in the sky amongst the stars. Birds dive, twirl and hover. They might travel thousands of miles every year, migrating across the seas to completely different countries and climates.

In this puppet making workshop you will imagine a pair of wings and the places they might take you. What kind of bird would you be? Where would you go?

The cost of this workshop includes a small art pack, which will be sent to you in the post. This pack will include a template and a few small bits and pieces to help you to add different textures and sparkle to your puppet creations.

You will need:

  • The art pack that you receive in the post inside its envelope (unopened!). Inside you’ll find a letter explaining details.
  • Scissors
  • Pritt stick or similar
  • Sellotape or masking tape
  • Drawing materials e.g. pencils, markers, crayons, whatever you have at home!

Booking closes on Thursday 2 July at midnight to allow adequate time for your pack to be posted to you. Early booking is advised.
