Online Workshops: The Art of Cave Painting 18 Feb 2021

Like the first cave painters, let sound and music inspire you to create new artworks in this online visual art workshop with Kim Sharkey.

Imagine how the hoof beat percussion of animals and the soft clap of human hands may have inspired some of the earliest human artworks. This workshop is inspired by studies that connect early cave paintings with sound.

During this workshop you will respond to music using techniques of print and drawing to create a unique artwork using materials easily found at home.

All you'll need is:

  • A4 paper drawing or cartridge paper preferably
  • Scissors
  • Oil pastel/paint or crayon
  • Mark-making tools, e.g. pen, twig, fork, string, barbecue skewers etc.
