Teachers Professional Development 25 Feb 2012
With musician Gitika Partington
Saturday 25th February 10.30am-3.30pm
Gitika Partington is an outstanding contemporary singer and composer from London with several collections published by Novello (one of the oldest and largest music publishers in the world). She has vast experience running vocal workshops, choirs, festival events and training for teachers. She has led professional development training for local education authorities, music services and Sing Up – the UK’s National Primary School Singing Initiative – inspiring and empowering teachers to become more confident about singing.
This will be Gitika’s first time offering training to teachers in Ireland. With her charismatic, physical, playful and creative approach, she has the ability to inspire anyone to sing. Gitika will engage you in a wonderfully uplifting and energetic group singing experience that celebrates your voice. Shelve any preconceptions about having a good or bad voice and ignite your love and passion for singing. Explore and create with your voice and nurture your own vocal confidence through learning a variety of fantastic songs. The day will also support you in extending your use of singing in the classroom and provide a range of creative ideas, structures and strategies for getting your class really excited about singing.
