What did children play with before there were batteries or computers? In this workshop, artist Jane Groves invites you to spend time away from complex technology and think about simple scientific and design solutions.
Jane will help you to design and make a self-propelled toy - a movable vehicle of sorts that could also become a bird, fish, space vehicle…whatever you wish to design! You will firstly plan out your design on paper based around a simple chasse structure. Then using a variety of recycled materials you will construct your designs.
This workshop will be like a design challenge, culminating in a fun vehicle race at the end!
