Orchestral Trad with the Clare Memory Ensemble 30 Jan 2016

This five piece ensemble will delight families with their mix of Irish trad and classical music all played from memory.

Based the West of Ireland, the Clare Memory Orchestra are the first and only orchestra in the Western world to play exclusively from memory, honouring Ireland’s living musical tradition.

Featuring some of Ireland’s leading traditional, classical and jazz musicians, this five piece ensemble from the orchestra will delight families with their mix of Irish traditional music, classical music and folk music from other parts of the world. You will hear traditional string sounds with Irish fiddles and harp, together with rumbling double bass, dreamy flute and the energy of banjo, trombone, clarinet and saxophone. A kaleidoscopic new sound that has brought audiences to their feet at every concert the CMO has played from Dublin to Moscow.

Presented as part of Temple Bar TradFest 2016
