Artist CPD: Mark-making with Dr. Lucy Hill 22 Nov 2025
Join Dr. Lucy Hill, in this FREE workshop for artists of all mediums and experience.
In January 2025, The Ark released Kit & Caboodle, a 4-part digital resource for teachers, wherein Lucy demonstrates and explores the endless possibilities that mark making can bring to classrooms from Junior Infants to Sixth Class.
Now, we are excited to present the endless possibilities of mark making to artists right here at The Ark! Whether you’re looking to develop your own practice or looking for ways to bring art to class groups, this CPD will invite you to explore mark making in your own medium!
During this workshop, you will take a deep dive into the importance of mark-making for children. Working with the list making methodology for designing mark making experiences for the children across all ages, you will explore some of the practical activities in the resource, working towards expanding your understanding of what different, simple, everyday materials can do.
Together, you will share your own ideas and experiences to help each other find new and creative ways to use everyday materials both in your own practice and in class group contexts.
All participants will be given a link to access Kit & Caboodle ahead of the workshop.
