Moonlight Dream 7 - 10 May 2026

The Ark and Dublin Dance Festival present a family show for ages 3 – 6. A magical adventure to the moon for little ones and their grown-ups

Step into a world of wonder with Moonlight Dream, a gentle dance and music experience for families with children under 6, created by choreographer Georgia Tegou and composer Ursula Burns.

Inspired by the soothing rituals of bedtime, cosy stories, soft lullabies and quiet moments, this enchanting show welcomes little ones and their grown-ups on a magical, sensory-rich adventure to the moon.

Follow a curious child, a caring bear and a mischievous fox as they explore the night sky and discover the limitless possibilities of the dream world. With live music, flowing movement, and glowing lightscapes, you are transported to a peaceful, ethereal space where imagination takes flight.

This relaxed dance performance is designed to be inclusive, calming and full of wonder for the whole family, perfect as a first theatre experience and a joyful way to bond, unwind and ignite curiosity.

Relaxed Performances

While this show has been created to be inclusive and calming, there are two performances designated as Relaxed Performances for those who would feel most comfortable attending these. These are Friday 8 May at 12.15pm and Saturday 9 May at 2pm.

Relaxed performances are aimed at families or school groups with children who are on the autism spectrum or those who have sensory sensitivities and will be tailored for the comfort of your child. The sound will be at a lower volume and the lights will be dimmed rather than completely dark, we will warn you of any loud noises and we will have a special chill-out area where your child can relax.

A relaxed performance information pack, with photographs and a synopsis of the show which may assist your child to prepare for the performance will be available ahead of yoru visit. For further information please contact The Ark on (01) 670 7788 or boxoffice@ark.ie.

Audio Description & Touch Tour

The performance on Friday 8 May at 12.15pm and Saturday 9 May at 2pm will be audio-described, with a touch-tour available 45 minutes before the show. To register for audio description or the touch tour, please email boxoffice@ark.ie after you have booked your tickets for the show.

Audio description refers to additional narration for blind or visually impaired patrons of visual media (television, film, theatre, dance, opera, museums and art galleries). It is a form of audio-visual translation, using the natural pauses in dialogue or between critical sound elements to insert a narrative that transposes the visual image into a sense form that is accessible to millions of individuals who otherwise lack full access to these media.

Touch Tours are for children with visual impairment or those with additional sensory needs or access requirements who would benefit from a more supported, relaxed experience. Touch Tours give children the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the theatre and the show’s set before the performance begins. Touch Tours take place 45 minutes before the show, and run for 25-30 minutes.
