Digital Workshops for Schools: Wires, Strings & Other Things 2 - 4 Dec 2025

Watch Wires, Strings & Other Things from the comfort of your classroom and then join Ed Devane for a music workshop inspired by the show!

Inspired by Wire, Strings, and Other Things, this hands-on online workshop explores how anything that makes a sound has musical potential. Through short listening exercises and playful sound-making with everyday objects, participants will discover how sound can be used for music-making, improvisation, storytelling, or emotional expression.

We’ll explore simple principles of instrument design—striking, rubbing, or bowing objects to uncover hidden sonic possibilities. Participants will be invited to bring a few household materials, form groups, and take part in guided improvisations based on narrative or gesture.

Everyone will have a chance to lead the group, encouraging creative expression, active listening, and a deeper appreciation of how sound shapes our understanding of the world.

All required materials will be sent to the school upon booking!
