Our new Early Years Artist in Residence Joanna Parkes take us on an adventure to solve some little mysteries with Elsie and Elliot…
In this creative drama workshop, participating children and their grown-ups (whether that’s mums, dads, grandparents, aunties or uncles) go on a journey together to follow the clues to see if they can help Elsie and Elliot.
Along the way you will meet these two interesting characters: Elsie who knows many things from her many big books and Elliot, the dragon who lives in the mountains. He loves stories too but has been banned from the library because he keeps accidentally setting the books on fire!
One day Elsie’s reading glasses disappear. In her garden there are strange claw prints and burnt leaves – maybe she has had an unusual visitor who has borrowed her glasses?
Using active drama activities, picture books and fun props, this workshop invites little ones and their grown-ups to enjoy imagining together.
Our Seedlings workshops offer opportunities for very young children to explore their imaginations through playful drama and story. Ideal for getting little ones (and their grown-up!) creating together.
Our Seedlings workshops are devised and presented by Joanna Parkes. Joanna is the second recipient of The Ark’s John Coolahan Early Years Artist Residency and will be devising and delivering an exciting drama workshop programme for children in the early years at The Ark from May 2019 until April 2020.
