Slapstick Performance Workshops 29 Jul - 8 Aug 2014

Knocks, shocks, scratches and dings... Join performers Niamh McGrath and Keith Singleton for this active physical theatre and slapstick workshop packed with fun, games and hilarious ways of falling over!

You don't need words to tell jokes and make people laugh - think of some of our greatest comedy performers (Laurel & Hardy, Charlie Chaplin, Mr Bean, Jack Black, Monty Python - even Tom & Jerry and Kung-Fu Panda!) and you realise that it was their body language and physical skills that made them funny.

Niamh and Keith will demonstrate slapstick techniques, falls and little routines that you can try for yourself so that you can entertain everyone when you get home!

The workshop will be a fun and enjoyable activity for any child, introducing them to new ways of exploring their own imagination, while also building confidence and communication skills through shared activities with other children.

Take a look at a short clip of some of the slapstick skills that the children picked up on the first day of workshops!
