Storyboard Workshop: The Breadwinner 25 Feb 2017

Cartoon Saloon, the creators of Oscar nominated Song of the Sea return to The Ark with a fun workshop to introduce their brand-new animated feature film The Breadwinner.

Join animator Rory Conway as he talks you through the animation process and asks you to put yourself in Parvana’s shoes, the lead character in their new film. Read through the story and recreate Parvana's adventures by drawing out the storyboard as seen through your own eyes. Rory will guide you through the storyboard technique and help bring your imagination to life.

During the workshop you will get some sneak peeks at The Breadwinner as you learn more about Parvana, a 12 year old girl growing up in Afghanistan in 2001. When her father is arrested, Parvana dresses as a boy in order to work and provide for her family. Based on the best-selling novel, The Breadwinner is an amazing story of family and friendship, set against one of the most defining moments in recent living history.
