Move & Imagine: Online Dance Workshop 24 Jul 2021

Reimagine and embrace everyday objects in this creative dance workshop with Selma Daniel.

Can a tent be a crab, an umbrella be a cloud, a toy beagle become a mouse? Let's find out together...

Explore the textures and observe the look and feel ordinary objects you find at home. Together, we are going to embody this experience into a fun dance and movement workshop.

Bring along two objects that you think are special in some way, one big (it can be as large as a chair or a big teddy bear!) and one small (it can be as tiny as a toy digger or a lego figure).

Requirements for Participation

For safety reasons, a parent or grown-up should be present in the room throughout the event, and if necessary be available to assist their child. Grown-ups will be asked to actively participate in this workshop alongside the children.

  • Wear comfortable clothes, have some water nearby and let's explore dance together.
  • Place your device, laptop/phone/tablet in front of you on a chair or table/coffee table leaving some floor space in front so you can move freely and still be in view of your camera.
  • Bring two objects that are special to you, one big (as big as a chair if you want) and one small (as small as your teeniest Lego if you want)

Online platform: The workshop will be delivered using the Zoom video call software. This will be a private Zoom session which will only be accessed by those booked, the artists and The Ark's staff. The session will be recorded for the safety and security of all participants, however this recording will not be shared publicly and will be deleted within 30 days.
