Surprising Sounds in Technicolor 18 May - 1 Jun 2013

A workshop for children aged 5-12 years with composer Karen Power. Part of LIGHTS, CAMERA, MUSIC!: a season of music-making inspired by film.

Sat 18 May 12-1pm (ages 5-7) & 2-3.30pm (ages 8-12)
Sat 1 Jun 12-1pm (ages 5-7) & 2-3.30pm (ages 8-12)

Karen Power loves colours. She also loves to create music and sounds using unexpected everyday objects. Filmmakers also use these kinds of ‘found sounds’ to enhance film soundtracks. In this workshop Karen will help you to listen and discover the musical potential hidden in all kinds of objects. Then, using the colour in films as a source of inspiration, you’ll get to create your own original music soundscapes for film! No previous musical experience necessary.
