Wild Haven 6 Apr - 13 May 2023

Come and view the wonders of nature through a new film piece for children of all ages by visual artist Clare Langan.

Take in the visual wonders of Wild Haven by artist Clare Langan as she brings you on an exploration of the minuscule, the minute and mesmerising, the mighty and the majestic elements of nature.

From the micro of insects and bees to the macro of large indigenous animals like whales, the film invites the viewer to dream, to listen to nature, to be curious about the ordinary and extraordinary features of the natural world, and encourages us to care for nature and for one another.

Relax in our viewing space to watch the film and then discover the patterns, colours and textures of nature by creating your own artwork. Zoom in on nature's many inhabitants and design your own creature for land or sea.

Filmed on location on the Dingle Pensinula, Blasket Islands and surrounding waters, Atlantic Bay Rest Ballyferriter.

About Clare Langan

Clare Langan is an Irish artist who makes films, videos and photography, which she has shown all over the world. She studied Fine Art at the National College of Art and Design, Dublin. After college she won a Fulbright Scholarship to complete a film workshop at New York University. From then on, she mainly focused on making films, but is still taking photographs.

She has represented Ireland in numerous international Biennales and festivals around the world. Her films have also won numerous awards including the Principle Prize at the Oberhausen International Short Film Festival, Germany2007, and the Prix Videoformes Award 2013, France. She has shown her work in MoMa New York, Tate Liverpool, and IMMA Ireland to mention a few. Her films and photographs are in a number of international public and private collections.
