Following on from the hugely positive reaction from international theatre programmers at the IPAY Showcase in Texas earlier this year, The Ark and Theatre Lovett’s "The Girl who Forgot to Sing Badly" was invited to be the family show for the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations at London's Southbank Centre in June
Running from 2 - 8 June 2012, The Ark and Theatre Lovett's The Girl Who Forgot to Sing Badly formed part of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations at the Southbank, by invitation as part of the summer-long Festival of the World, generously supported by Culture Ireland. Remounting the show for London also presented an opportunity to present the production at Cork Midsummer Festival in July.
Since it was first premiered at The Ark in 2010, this hugely successful production has enjoyed critically acclaimed runs at The Abbey Theatre (Peacock stage), on national tour and at the Ulster Bank Dublin Theatre ReViewed season, appeared in Edinburgh’s Traverse Theatre as part of the Bank of Scotland Imaginate Festival, and was invited to showcase (the first Irish production to do so) at the prestigious IPAY showcase (International Association of Performing Arts for Young People), in Austin Texas.
"Best of the bunch...a tremendously entertaining one-man show... It's inspired". The Guardian
