Early Years Workshop: Fallen Forest 30 Nov 2021
In the Fallen Forest all the trees have lost their leaves and the branches are bare.
But nature is only sleeping: little seeds and big roots are buried deep down within the earth, resting through the cold winter so they’re ready to emerge in spring.
Come explore the Fallen Forest with your grown up, discover all the colours and patterns of the forest. Make marks and curious designs with the fallen leaves, create your own squiggly roots and come dig for hidden seed treasure!
COVID-19 Measures
We want you to feel comfortable and confident in attending live in-person workshops at The Ark and can reassure you that we have safety measures in place.
We have kept our capacities low to enable social distancing and therefore proof of vaccination is not required to attend this workshop. Enhanced ventilation, cleaning and hygiene measures are in place, with hand sanitising stations and one-way systems.
Face coverings are mandatory for grown-ups and young people aged 13+ at all times while inside The Ark, while children under 13 are encouraged to wear face coverings if they feel comfortable to do so.

Refunds & Cancellation Policy: If any events are cancelled by The Ark whether due to COVID-19 or any other reason, then we refund all audiences affected. As part of our COVID-19 protocols, we ask that if you are feeling unwell or displaying symptoms of COVID-19, you follow government guidelines, remain at home and self-isolate. Our box office can arrange a refund of your ticket in these circumstances provided you let us know at least an hour in advance of the workshop.
About the Artist
Jane Groves is a visual artist whose work is embedded in meaningful process-driven engagement and site-specific installation. Her work encompasses a variety of methodologies from silversmithing and metalwork to printing and fabric design and she curates spaces and creates work intended to be viewed in context.
Jane loves to connect people, places, and landscapes and specialises in working with young people, inspired by her own observations of nature and informed in part by many children’s lack of interaction with and vocabulary about the natural world. Jane delights in bringing her spark to very young children and their families, listening carefully and delighting in the creative response, encouraging passion, playfulness, and curiosity. Jane has worked extensively with children and communities through working with The Ark, Dublin City Council, Creativity In The Classroom , The Craft and Design Council, DLR, and many more.
