Bookkeeper & Administrator (Full-Time)

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced bookkeeper or finance administrator to join and really make an impact in an established and ambitious arts organisation. As Bookkeeper & Administrator, you will be the financial heartbeat of The Ark - the person who keeps our day-to-day finances running accurately and efficiently. Working closely with the General Manager, you will ensure that the organisation's finances are managed with accuracy, transparency and rigour.

The Ark is primarily funded through public grants - principally from the Arts Council and the Department of Education - alongside earned income, corporate support, and donations. The Bookkeeper & Administrator role will be key to ensuring that income and expenditure are accurately recorded across multiple restricted and unrestricted funding streams, that funder reporting requirements are met, and that the organisation remains compliant with all relevant statutory, regulatory and governance obligations.

The role has four main areas of responsibility:

  • Financial Administration & Bookkeeping: Processing and recording all financial transactions, managing payroll, maintaining accurate records across the organisation's multiple funding streams, and ensuring timely payment of invoices and expenses.
  • Financial Reporting: Producing management accounts, cash flow reports, and funder financial returns, and providing financial information to support the General Manager, Director and Board in decision-making.
  • Grant & Income Administration: Supporting the administration of grant agreements, monitoring grant conditions and deadlines, and preparing financial returns in line with grant requirements.
  • Compliance & Governance Support: Supporting the General Manager in meeting statutory, regulatory and charitable obligations - including with the Charities Regulator, the Companies Registration Office, and Revenue - and supporting the annual audit process.

Closing date for applications is Wednesday 3 June at 12pm. Late applications will not be accepted.

Please note that successful candidates will be required to provide proof of identity and complete our Garda vetting process.

Visitor Services Assistant (part-time, casual role)

The Visitor Services Assistant (VSA) team plays a key role in the delivery of The Ark’s strategic priorities, as they work closely with the whole of The Ark team as the main point of contact for our schools and public audiences. It is a multi-skilled and varied role designed to deliver the warmest of welcomes and support and enhance all public- facing activity here at The Ark and offsite in other venues, in line with our mission statement and core values.

There are two main aspects to the role:

  • Front of House: Working alongside their Visitor Services colleagues, artists, and other members of The Ark’s team to deliver safe, fun, and creative experiences. The focus for the VSA is always on our audiences and visitors, ensuring that they are welcomed, supported, and looked after during their time with The Ark – whether in our venue or offsite - seeing a performance, navigating an exhibition or taking part in a workshop. The VSA will consistently deliver and enforce The Ark’s health and safety and Child Safeguarding Policies.
  • Box Office: Supporting the Visitor Services team in all aspects of The Ark’s box office and reception operations, ensuring that operations are efficient, organised, and welcoming. You will also have a key role in helping to promote The Ark and all its events.

This is a casual role, with part-time hours varying from week to week depending on the needs of the programme and your own availability. A rota is created monthly based on your availability and the shifts available. Shifts will primarily be during the day, on weekdays and weekends, with very occasional early evening shifts. Work will generally take place in our venue in Temple Bar, as well as offsite activities, including Coolock, Ballyfermot, Cabra and Central Libraries.
