European Commission's Power of Together
The Ark is proud to be part of the European Commission's Power of Together campaign, celebrating the lasting impact of European investment in communities, culture and public spaces across Ireland.
Over the past 30 years, we've welcomed more than one million visitors and worked with thousands of artists, schools, families and communities across Ireland to realise every child's right to art and culture.
Reflecting on The Ark's journey, Director Aideen Howard says:
"What has always defined The Ark is a belief in the power of the arts to shape children's lives in meaningful and joyful ways. Over the past 30 years, we've had the privilege of working with extraordinary artists, partners and communities to create ambitious and fun cultural experiences for children. I am particularly proud of The Ark's child participation practice, which means that children are at the centre of our decision-making."
Today, The Ark continues to build on the original investment that helped establish the centre, with annual funding from the Arts Council of Ireland, the Department of Education and Youth, and Dublin City Council.
The Power of Together campaign is a reminder that investment in arts and culture creates lasting value, not only in the buildings and organisations it supports, but in the generations of children, artists and communities it engages.
