Sparking Space - Unveiling of new interactive art piece at St Laurence O’Toole National School.
On Monday 14 September, we launched Sparking Space, a commissioned interactive art piece in response to the Dublin Let's Move initiative, with students from St Laurence O’Toole National School.

Dublin Let’s Move is an art and sustainability project aiming to come up with creative interventions for children in the surrounding areas of the St Laurence O’Toole Primary School. The initiative is funded by Dublin City Council and aims to address excessive parking in the area.
The project began in May 2025 with children from Junior Infants- 5th Class at St Laurence O’Toole National School. Over the course of 2025, the children took part in consultation sessions with artists Luke Casserly and Orla Kelly.
They explored what was important to the children, how they felt about there area and what they would like to see come out of this project.
Following the child consultation workshops, Luke and Orla developed the children's ideas, with a final brainstorming session in August to bring the concept together.
Sparking Space is an interactive and creative structure that takes up simialr space to a car parking space.
The Dublin Let’s Move initiative celebrates the ideas and imagination of local children, giving them a voice in shaping the spaces around them and exploring how art, sustainability and community can come together.
We are very proud to be a part of it and hope that the children of St.Lawrence O'Toole's get fun and inspiration from Sparking Space and feel that their voice matters! #artsforEVERYchild
