Dance artist Monica Muñoz begins John Coolahan Early Years Artist Residency
We are delighted to announce that dance artist Monica Muñoz will begin her Early Years Artist Residency this week, presenting her Underwater Moves online workshops for children aged 2-4 and their grown-ups as part of the Dublin City Libraries Creative Hubs programme.
Last February, we announced that dance artist Monica Muñoz would become our third John Coolahan Early Years Artist-in-Residence. Delayed due to Covid-19 restrictions, we are delighted that she will finally begin her residency this week with fun workshops for children aged 2-4 and their grown-ups as part of the Dublin City Libraries Creative Hubs programme and our new partnership with Dublin City Arts Office and Libraries, bringing experiences on and off line to young audiences aged 2-4 and their families!
Monica brings a sunny seaside beach and all its excitement right into your homes! You can surf, dance in the sea and swim like a fish in this fun filled workshop with a sound track to the summer you won’t forget anytime soon!

The Dublin City Libraries Creative Hubs programme has been offering creative arts experiences to children since 2010, including free performances, exhibitions, workshops and short residencies to the local communities. About Monica Muñoz
Monica Muñoz is a dancer, performance-maker and educator originally from Barcelona and based in Dublin since 2014. She graduated at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen/Germany and completed an MA in Dance Education at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts. As a dancer, she worked for over 20 years throughout Europe and across the globe. Recently, The Ark selected her to participate in an artists’ lab as part of the PUSH+ Creative Europe project for artists working with young audiences. Currently, she is undertaking a research period supported by the YPCE Bursary Award from the Arts Council about dance for and with children in the early years. She is The Ark’s John Coolahan Early Years Artist in Residence 2021/22.
