Name our new Polar Bear!

For our upcoming Winter Light exhibition, sculptor Helen O'Connell has carved a majestic polar bear from Italian white Carrara marble. Now, our bear needs a name and we need your help!

Winter Light is our upcoming exhibition of new artworks for children, all inspired by the unexpected joys of wintertime. The exhibition features new work from artists Aideen Barry, Martin Gale, Gabhann Dunne, Fuchsia MacAree, Martina Galvin, Orla Kaminska, Cartoon Saloon & Liselott Olofsson, and Helen O’Connell. For her piece, Helen is working on a beautiful marble sculpture of a polar bear, and we need your help to give our new friend a name!

We want to hear suggestions from children for what name our new friend should go by when she is welcomed to her new home here at The Ark in January. Submit your suggestion to us using the form below, or by email at boxoffice@ark.ie by Thursday 17 December at 5pm and we'll announce the chosen name on our website and social media @TheArkDublin when our bear arrives in January. Keep an eye out to see if your name is picked!

In the meantime, check out these gorgeous photos of Helen working on this great creature in her studio, with some help from her daughter Aoife (age 9).
