Children’s Competition - Sketching the City!

Get sketching your favourite places in your city or town for the chance to win tickets for your family or school! To prepare for our new workshop programme Me & The City, artist Jole Bortoli has been exploring Dublin and sketching some of the buildings, places and objects that she has seen - and so can you!

No matter what your age or artistic skill, sketching is a great way to explore your village, town or city. You can carry a sketch pad and pencil with you wherever you go or even work from a photograph or memory! You could choose to sketch buildings or statues or bridges - there is so much around you to choose from! Jole has given us some tips on how to get started - you can see them here.

To be in with the chance to win tickets to events at The Ark for your family or school just send us your drawings! On Friday 6 April, Jole will choose her favourite sketch and that person will win a family ticket (four people) or up to ten tickets for their school.

Send us your sketches via the button below or get a grown-up to upload it onto social media, tagging in @TheArkDublin. Make sure to give us your name and age as well. Closing date to be part of the competition is 12pm on Fri 6 April.

Me & The City is a creative visual arts programme where children can discover and explore the shapes and textures of a city and its buildings, sculptures and street art while also learning about how the city is designed. Find out more here
