The Ark Children's Council are excited to reveal the new performances-in-progress that will be tested with family audiences in Still Loading... on Sun 16 June, part of Right Here Right Now! The Ark's Festival of Children.
Still Loading... is a mini showcase of new performances-in-progress or work being created specifically for children. The Children's Council chose to call it Still Loading... because: "the short performances you will see are not completely finished. They are still works in progress and we, and the artists who are making them want to know what you think about them"
The Council have been working with The Ark's team, reviewing submissions from organisations and artists that wanted to take part, giving feedback and input and then selecting the four pieces that they will present to audiences on Sunday 16 June at 3pm. Their chosen pieces are:
- The Smashing Red Kite's Blues - Emilie Conway, Johnny Taylor, Damian Evans & Ann Lorraine Mack (Music)
- A Suburban Legend - Little Wolf (Theatre)
- Francis Footwork - CoisCéim Dance Theatre (Dance)
- The Leap - Fishamble (Theatre)
You can find out more about these pieces and get your tickets via the button below.
About The Ark's Children's Council ...
The Ark Children's Council are a group of 34 children aged 9-11 who come to The Ark about once a month. "We do workshops in art, music, film and drama and we go to many of The Ark’s events. We give a lot of feedback to The Ark and meet a lot of artists. We help The Ark to make decisions about the work they do."
Right Here Right Now! The Ark’s Festival of Children is presented by The Ark as part of Cruinniú na nÓg, an initiative of the Creative Ireland Programme and the local authorities, supported by RTE.
