The Ark’s Transition Year Work Experience Programme 2020

The Ark is delighted to announce our updated Transition Year Work Experience Programme.

This week-long programme promises to be an exciting week of activity for transition year students with an interest in working in the arts sector and, in particular, working with children aged 2-12. The week agreed for the programme in 2020 is Monday 23 - Friday, 27 March.

Participants will get an opportunity to experience many areas of the arts industry, from internal arts administration, artistic programming for music, visual arts, theatre and film, archiving, child participation processes, front of house/box office work and community engagement.

Participants must be available for Work Experience during the week outlined above, unfortunately no alternatives are available.

Application Process:
All applicants are required to provide the following information by email to engagement@ark.ie:
• A brief cover letter (maximum one A4 page) outlining why you would like to participate in The Ark’s Transition Year Work Experience Programme
• Basic Curriculum Vitae (maximum one A4 page)

All applications must be received by Friday 6 March at 12 midday.

Applicants will receive notice of the outcome by Friday 13 March.
Applicants will be selected based on the information they provide. Please note that candidates may be shortlisted and may also be asked to attend a brief interview. Successful applicants will require Garda Vetting.

The Ark expects to receive more applications than places available. In line with The Ark’s Diversity and Inclusion Policy, we actively seek to ensure equality in terms of access and engagement across gender, ethnicity, age, orientation, membership of the Traveller Community, socio-economic status, family or civil status, disability, or religion.

Places are limited, therefore we will unfortunately not be able to accommodate everyone.
