We're having a party and you're all invited

A very special someone's birthday is almost here, and The Ark is delighted to invite you along to the party! On Wednesday the 31st of July we will be throwing a party for Silkie The Seal’s 7th Birthday, and we would love to celebrate with you and all the other wonderful animals at The Beautiful Beasts Exhibition. We’re also celebrating the fact that our exhibition and visual art response areas are open all summer and it is completely free to drop in!

Seven years ago, The Ark commissioned sculptor Helen O'Connell and Silkie was made. Silkie weighs 2 tonne and although she is only turning seven, her body contains fossils from millions of years ago!

The Beautiful Beasts were created by leading Irish and international artists from materials ranging from bronze, woods, ceramics, steel and stone, featuring work by Anthony Scott, Conor Fallon, Owen Crawford, Imogen Stuart, Orla Kaminska, Luxon Gutsa, Olivia Musgrave and Helen O'Connell.  

We would be delighted if you would join us on Wednesday 31 July. Drop in from 10:30am  – 12.30pm for some party celebrations, face painting, art making and exhibition viewing. We will sing Happy Birthday at 11:30am, with speeches and some birthday treats!

Make a day of it in Temple Bar
We are delighted to be collaborating with Gourmet Burger Kitchen and Temple Bar Snacks for Silkie’s celebrations. After spending some time at The Ark, continue the party by heading across to GBK for discounted kids burgers and free ice cream in Temple Bar Snacks!
