Following its hugely successful run in 2019, The Ark is proud to present The Haircut, a tale for ages 8+ about magic, music, and hair by Wayne Jordan & Tom Lane.

We are very excited to reveal our brilliant cast and musicians who together will introduce you to a fresh take on the old Irish fairytale of Labhraidh Loingseach.
Kwaku Fortune

Kwaku recently played the role of Vet in AMELIA, directed by Dee Roycroft. He has most recently filmed the role of Dec season 2 of THE DRY for Element Pictures. He appeared on our screens in HIDDEN ASSETS, LINE OF DUTY, REDEMPTION, NORMAL PEOPLE. On stage Kwaku recently played Gary in YOU BELONG TO ME, directed by Lynne Parker; he appeared alongside Camille O’Sullivan in PIAF for the Gate Theatre, Dublin; and as Ray in THE BEAUTY QUEEN OF LEENANE for the Lyric Hammersmith & Chichester Festival Theatre.
Further stage credits include ABSENT THE WRONG by Dylan Coburn-Gray; Eli in ASKING FOR IT at Birmingham Repertory Theatre; PEAT directed by Tim Crouch at The Ark; and the role of Dara Mood Caitrona McLaughlin’s acclaimed production of Marina Carr's RAFTERY'S HILL at the Abbey Theatre. Kwaku has recently been nominated for the 2024 Screen Ireland - IFTA Rising Star Award.
Paddy Nolan

Patrick Nolan enjoys an eclectic career as a freelance percussionist. Moving to Glasgow from his native Dublin in 2009, he studied at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland under Kurt-Hans Goedicke, John Poulter, Tom Hunter, Martin Gibson, Christopher Lamb and Eric Sammut. During his time there, he was the grateful recipient of the ABRSM scholarship and winner of the Governors' Recital Prize. Patrick regularly performs with orchestras across Ireland and the UK, including the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Irish Chamber Orchestra, Irish National Opera, Scottish Opera, Scottish Ballet and Royal Northern Sinfonia.
He has had the honour of touring with the European Union Youth Orchestra. Keen to showcase the myriad possibilities of percussion instruments, Patrick has enjoyed touring with Alex Petcu’s Bangers and Crash group, most recently in the latter part of 2024, delivering workshops and playing concerts across the country. He has the privilege to perform on occasion with Crash Ensemble, Red Note Ensemble and, as a founding member, the Glasgow Percussion Collective.
Lioba Petrie

Dublin born cellist Lioba Petrie studied in Dublin’s Conservatory of Music and Drama, NUI Maynooth. She enjoys teaching, performing, composing and is passionate about chamber music. As well as working as a freelance musician, Lioba is regularly engaged as a contractor for large and small ensembles for live concerts and recording sessions with her ensemble Studio Orchestra Ireland. In 2024 Lioba worked as a coach and music consultant on a popular Netflix series due for release in 2025.
Lioba is the artistic director of the popular Kaleidoscope Night music series as well as co-director, curator, and founder of the highly innovative Spike Dublin Alternative Cello Fest (established 2016). Lioba has vast experience composing and performing music for theatre and film, with projects including Permission Granted (2023) as part of Dublin Fringe Festival. New music will be released with duo Unshaped Form in early 2025. Lioba enjoyed an artist’s Residency at the Centre Culturel Irlandais, (Paris) and Dun Laoghaire. Lioba has performed and recorded with the RTE Concert Orchestra as well as The City of Dublin Chamber Orchestra. Lioba can often be seen leaping around the hills of Wicklow where she enjoys hiking and swimming and sitting in front of open fires.
Berginald Rash

Hailed for his ‘especially stylish’ playing (The Guardian), acclaimed clarinetist Berginald Rash is a captivating international artist having performed with such orchestras as RTÉ Concert Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland, and the Ulster Orchestra, collaborating with members of Philharmonia, Nashville Symphony, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Frankfurt hr-Sinfonieorchester, and Atlanta Symphony. He has given masterclasses at such universities as University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point, University of Kansas, and Vanderbilt. A TEDx Speaker and radio presenter, Berginald has been a reviewer for BBC Radio 3's Record Review, a presenter on BBC Radio 3's Inside Music, presented a three-part docu-series on BBC Radio 3 entitled "The American Clarinet", and a contributor on BBC Radio 4's How to Play. He has been featured on RTÉ lyric FM's Full Score with Liz Nolan and Aedín in the Afternoon where he along with his duo partner, harpist Fiona Gryson, shared their debut album, Dathanna: Hues and Shades.
