The Transition Year Work Experience Programme at The Ark is returning Spring 2026
The Ark is delighted to announce our Transition Year Work Experience Programme 2026 which will take place Monday 2 March- Friday 6 March 2026.

This week-long programme is an exciting & jampacked week for students with an interest in working in the arts sector and, in particular working in a Cultural Centre for children from birth to 12 years.
It is an opportunity to experience many areas of the arts industry, from internal arts administration, artistic programming for music, visual arts, theatre and film, archiving, learning about child participation processes, front of house/box office work and community engagement.
You must be available for Work Experience during the week outlined above from 10.30am till 4.30pm. Unfortunately, we cannot offer alternative dates.
Application Process:
To apply, please complete the application form by Friday 7 November at 12 noon.
We will let you know the outcome of your application by Friday 21 November.
There are a total of 16 places for The Ark’s Work Experience Programme 2026. Applicants will be selected based on the information they provide. Half of the placements are allocated to students from DEIS schools. Please note that shortlisted candidates will be asked to attend a brief interview.
The Ark will provide a prepaid Leap Card to cover travel costs.
We wish we could offer everyone a place. Unfortunately, every year, The Ark receives many more applications than places available. In line with The Ark’s Diversity and Inclusion Policy, we actively seek to ensure equality in terms of access and engagement across gender, ethnicity, age, orientation, membership of the Traveller Community, socio-economic status, family or civil status, disability, or religion.
